Sailed on the Ammassalik Fjord all the day...Took photos....Angled and catched some big cods....

The weather was a litle cloudy, but there was no wind....Again a good day....

The speed boat

Spent the afternoon on the Ammassalik fjord with my wife and daughter.....Catched a lot of cods....We had sandwiches and fruit to eat...NICE day

Once again....WRONG

Today I was called in to the medical examination and tests.....It lasted two hours....Interviews....EKG...blood samples...hight...waight...blood sugar...BMi...Fat%...All done very carefully.....In 4 or 5 month we'll get the result from the scientists.......No doctors...No nurses....But laboratory technicians...

Friday evening.....A good weather forcast for the weekend....Tomorrow will be an "outside day"....But first I had to go to our village hall... I've called in to be examined by the doctors, who came with the ship Kisaq this week....I'll hope I can tell you a little bit more, about their examinations here in Kuummiut.....
Sitting on the veranda looking at the sunset....I feel grateful and humble....What a life I have...

I was wrong

It was a cruise ship...but there was no tourist onboard....Instead doctors and nurses comming to examinate the people here in Kuummiut....The cancer, diabetes and heart attacks are increasing....They are trying to find out why....I think I know... I'll tell you about that later..

Kisaq

A new boat comes in. Found my binoculars...I could se the name of the ship: "Kisaq". On the internet i found out that " Kisaq" was the name of a cruise ship. It was from Nuuk: I also found out it had sailed in the Caribians....So maybe we have tourists in town tomorrow.

My Day

The first photo is from morning, at 6.30 It had snowed a litle during the night...The rising sun gave the peak on the opposite side of the fjord a pin colour.
On my way to school a snow shower pased by on the fjord...
When I had finished school I walked out to my boat...Nearly all the clouds had disappeard and most snow in the setlement was gone..
There she is....I checked the moorings, because the weather forcast anounced: Gale warning for Kulusuk and Aputiteq..The waters outside the Ammassalik Fjord...

Girls from 9'th on their way to school, on a cloudy cold morning. It is nice for me to have a job in a school with only 84 children....I know them all by name....

On the little harbour

Here are the little garage the sealers use when they repair their boats
Allways somthing to look at boats coming in with fish and seals. And there are always problems with the outboards.
They are experts in repairing outboards. but the new four stroaks creating troubles. They need a computer to find out whats wrong,
Nearly all the boats have VHF radios
People like to talk about the fisheri and the weather. And if I need help there are always people who wants to give a hand with my boat.

Enigma - Return to innocence

One of my favorite songs...I want to share it with you...This evening I'll relax. My wife is in Nuuk and our headmaster is traveling, too...These days I have two jobs headmaster for the school and theacher at the same time. And I have to take care of our lithle daughter, too

The Piteraq is a faling wind comming from the ice cap....Somtimes it comes with enourmus power it nearly detroyed Tasiilaq in the beginning of the 1970.

Todays storm is caused by the last power of the hurricane " Ike "
