Our supply vessel Johanna Kristina leaving Kuummiut for the last time in this year .. 2008 ... She will return sometime in late June 2009 .. and resume transport between Tasiilaq and settlements in our part of East Greenland ... The ship is berthed Kuummiut through the summer every Friday. Delivered supplies to the store, mail and passengers .. Now comes winter with pack ice from the north. It attaches itself to be a several hundred kilometer wide strip along the coast, and making any sailing impossible. From now on, we depend on the helicopter, which will arrive to Kuummiut Tuesday and Thursday, if weather permits ...
